      <image:title>Galleries - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>When conceiving this painting, I had the wounded Fisher King from Arthurian legend primarily in mind, hence the title of the painting. However, I also wanted to present him in the style of a merman (f.202v.) from the Luttrell Psalter which has been my favourite grotesque from the aforementioned book for quite some time now. The source material has been copied in miniature á bas de page. As the Fisher King is the Keeper of the Grail, the work is steeped in Catholic imagery which is appropriate for the subject matter. Furthermore, I thought it would be interesting to dress my Fisher King in contemporary dress, at least contemporary with the nineteen eighties! The work took me eight months to complete from conception to completion. I hope you like it.</image:caption>
