John C.M. Wood: to paraphrase Dylan Thomas, a portrait of the artist as an old dog!
A photograph of the Plaster Saint with some of the source material as a background.
A page from my research book with a Gryllus and foliate borders from f,185r. of the Luttrell Psalter.
Some of you may recognise the Ostrea from Jacob-van-Maerlant-Der-Naturen-Bloeme, but this one is only 3cm by 1cm.
A Mustela and Talpa being finished on New Years Eve MMXVI.
I completed this technical drawing of the Aztec/Mexica god Xolotl, who is a god of the evening star, twin of Quetzalcoatl as the morning star, some time ago now, but it has always been one of my favourites. The original statue, carved in green-stone, is an excellent example of Aztec/Mexica craftsmanship.
A satisfied customer with a framed Mustela!
My little amanuensis Ellis Wood who is another very satisfied customer!
